Well, Bob was doing his 'outro' speel, "we'll leave you tonight with a clip from Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band - this is Big-Eyed Beans from Venus! The Captain stood centre stage in what looked like a magicians cape growling, but behind him were two demented guitarists cruising up and down the stage incessantly playing these strange licks like their life depended on it!! I was mesmerised!! Next day I got into town and tracked him down, in his tray was Clear Spot and Safe as Milk and I was hooked therein!!!!! 10. NUMBER OF BEEFHEART GIGS SEEN, AND WHICH YEARS: Sob,sob...none! 11. ART SHOWS VISITED : Brighton, where I loitered with intent to savour the show for as long as the train timetable allowed!!
