TOM PALMER - Living With The Flaws (Tap Records TPCD2)
Every now and then you come across a CD you would unreservedly recommend to anyone - here's one such case. Part of the album ambitiously was recorded 'live' at the Barge in Gillingham so you can judge the quality of Tom's excellent vocals accompanied by a very competent rhythm guitar backing in their natural setting. Tom's choice of material is well on mark covering as it does Marc Cohen's "Dig Down Deep" and Sting's "Englishman In New York" while his own songs settle very comfortably alongside. Congratulations also to Phil Beer's engineering, recording and session work which enhances without detracting from the job at hand.
