CHANTAN - Primary Colours (Culburnie Records CUL 108D)
The combination of vocalists Christine Kydd, Elspeth Cowie and Corrina Hewat delivers a fine debut album. Particulary enjoyable are the simple syncopated harp arrangement on Kydd's version of Burn's 'Slave's Lament'. In fact, the trio seem on firmer ground with the more traditional material where their very Scottishness shines through.
