CYTHARA - Pluckin' Hammered (Lochshore Records CDLDL 1253)
The teaming of Jenny Crook (harp, guitar, vocals) and Maclaine Colston (hammered dulcimer, vocals) is in my books an inspired combination. Having been suitably impressed by their first recording I find this latest offering every bit as good. For those of you who remember Rosie Cross of Pyewackett, Jenny has similar vocals and fans of Jim Couza can't help but be mightily impressed by his protege. If you thought these two instruments should be relegated to the back of the folk orchestra - think again!
