OYSTERBAND - Deep Dark Ocean (Cooking Vinyl COOK CD 128)
Putting on the latest recording by the Oysterband is a bit like pulling on a well worn overcoat, secure in the knowledge that here is a band who will always turn out the goods. John Jones vocals are definitely a strongpoint of the band and the addition of multi-instrumentalist (out of the producers chair) Alan Scott gives an added depth to an already full sound. The band's dynamic approach has them tagged as 'folk anarchist ' - long may they continue.
