OLD BLIND DOGS - Five (Lochshore Records CDLDL 1264)
Those barking mad lads are back with more of their Scottish percussion led acoustic rock. This time they are swelled in the ranks by Fraser Fifield on border pipes, saxophone and whistles. As ever, a lions shar of the credit must go to Ian F Benzie's superb vocals. Some will remember the basic arrangement of tried and tested material such as "The Battle Of Harlaw" (Battlefield Band) but who cares when it's done with such passion. Now sounding more like the Tannahill Weavers of old (and that's a compliment!) the album is more than worthy of your attention.
