STEELEYE SPAN - Sails Of Silver (Park Records PRKCD40)
The album that saw the return to the bosom of Steeleye fiddler Pete Knight and guitarist Bob Johnson after a self imposed break To be fair, this wasn't to be a ground breaking recording but more a continuation of the Rocket Cottage genre. Nothing wrong with that but let's face it, it's not a patch on what the band had produced before. Even with the two standout tracks remaining the Knight penned "Gone To America" and "Let Her Go Down" I'm afraid this is an album that will be considered one for the completists even with the addition of three 'live' bonus tracks recorded by the current line-up.
