Trains leave Glasgow Queen Street Lower Level regularly, every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during the evening. You should travel to Airdrie Station.

When leaving Airdrie Station turn left and walk towards the Roundabout. Cross straight over the roundabout into Broomknoll Street. Continue until you come to the cross roads controlled by traffic lights. Go straight across into Bank Street. At the next cross roads turn left into Anderson Street.

The Airdrie Arts Centre is about half way along Anderson Street, next to the Police Station.

Travelling by Car

There are a number of possible routes when travelling by car, the description given here is ONE possible route.

N.B. All directions on maps relate to the 'Red' arrows shown on the maps.

For a general overview of the route once you near Airdrie please refer to Map One - there are more detailed maps referred to within the text below.

Leave Glasgow City Centre on the M8 heading towards Edinburgh (Map One). Keep to the M8 heading towards Edinburgh - do not take the junction for Coatbridge when the M73 bears off to the left (junction 8). Continue on what is now the A8 heading towards Edinburgh (Map Three).

After approximately 2 miles you will pass under a road bridge with a turning to the left sign posted for Coatbridge and Strathclyde Park- do not take this turning. CONTINUE ON the A8 (Map Three) - the next turning to the left is into a company called Shanks & McEwan. About 100 metres after which is a turning sign posted for Carnbroe (Map Four).

Take this turning (Carnbroe Road). Follow this road into the village of Carnbroe. Go straight over the first mini roundabout as you come into Carnbroe, go past Carnbroe Primary School and straight over another mini roundabout (Carnbroe Road) (Map Four).

Follow the road round a long right hand corner which then takes you past a church on the right hand side of the road (now Paddock Street). At the roundabout just past the church go straight on - do not turn left (Map Four).

Follow up the hill, (now Sykeside Road), until you reach a 'T' junction. Turn left at the 'T' junction into Cairnhill Road (Map Four). Follow this road, which turns shape right and then shape left over a disused railway line. Continue along this road past Cairnhill Trading Estate on your right (Map Two).

After another 200 metres (approx.), you should see Airdrie Railway Station on the left, with the Railway line crossing the road via a bridge in front of you. Pass under the railway bridge to the roundabout (Map Two).

Go straight over the roundabout into Broomknoll Street. Continue until you come to the cross roads controlled by traffic lights. Go straight across into Bank Street. At the next cross roads turn left into Anderson Street(Map Two).

The Airdrie Arts Centre is about half way along Anderson Street, next to the Police Station. You should be able to park in Anderson Street, or in the nearby streets(Map Two).
