SkyWalkers

Skywalkers was formed in October 1994 by Mark Andrews (vocals and keyboards), Neil Pepper (bass) and Spencer Luckman (drums). Early 1995 saw the band at a recording session at the 'Room with a View' studios to put down a demo. This was a resounding success and the tracks were subsequently released on a mini-album - 'Walking in Dreams'.

Skywalkers CD Art 'Walking in Dreams' was a six track cassette that was completed and released in July 1995. The album received considerable critical acclaim both nationally and internationally, particularly on the European scene. The Crown in Ringwood was the venue for the bands first 'live' performance. The audience was overwhelmed by the thought-provoking and profound lyrics as well as the extensive range of material from slow ballads to heavy rock that brought them to their feet in appreciation. After this 'official' launch, album sales dramatically increased with admirers beginning to demand more songs and information on this up and coming band.

Almost immediately the boys went back to the studio to start work on their second album 'Out of Darkness'. At the same time they were invited to perform at Mr Smiths Piano Bar in Bournemouth - a haven for rising rock talent. The word was out, as the audience were again roused by the material and style of SkyWalkers. Throughout the winter months many hours were spent in the studio recording and editing tracks for the second album.

1996 has continued in a similar vein. In March Skywalkers were invited back to perform at The Crown in Ringwood. The faithful returned to this gig with some new fans who had heard the buzz on the grapevine and wanted to hear Skywalkers for themselves. During the evening guitarist Ric Selby joined them on stage. he had been providing guitar parts for tracks on the new album in the studio. Ric's accomplished performance helped to create an even greater depth and completeness to the band and struck just the right chord with the fans. As a result, he was asked to become a full time member. This addition was followed by being selected for The Explo Battle of the Bands in Bournemouth.

KaleidascopeRecently, Spiral was worthy of inclusion on 'Off' a compilation from 25 Records and label entrepreneur Mark Rigler commented 'We are delighted the Skywalkers have contributed a track to this album'. Tank Montana, the former 2CR DJ has also played both this track, and Broken, on his popular drivetime shows and airtime on Radio 1 is now in the pipeline. At present there are six tracks ready for the 'Out of Darkness' album with another four being finalised. To the faithful fan's delight it will be released in early 1997 and is expected to be even more successful than 'Walking in Dreams'
