History
On a dull, grey Deadwood morning, one of the monks
of Bacchus had a shock that caused him to seek Blessing before
Morning Worship. On the doorstep of the temple had been left a
baby...thing. Its piggy nose seemed to indicate an Orcish ancestor,
but its little pink limbs implied a human parent.
The temple of Bacchus welcomed the youngster into its midst, and named it Ignatius. He survived the tauntings of the other children by adopting the name Iggy, telling stories and by knowing all the dirt on all of them. Soon they were far too scared or embarrassed to harass him further.
Iggy quickly rose to the notice of the Deadwood family, after successfully discovering dirt on both the Earl and Lady Alpha. They reluctantly allowed him to join The Gathering delegation in 1094, which allowed him access to thousands of new people to dig up dark secrets about.
In following years, he proved his skill with both information and his sword to the Harts. He rose to positions of importance with some speed, no doubt smoothing the way in his normal style. He was appointed a Baron at the Gathering of 1097.
The years since has been hard on Iggy. Shortly after he visited his closest friend Connall Evansson at a keep on the edge of the Vale of Avalon, he received word that Connall had been murdered by Wee Eek McEwan of the Lions. Iggy took the news badly, locking himself into his chambers in Londinium Castle.
He reemerged in time for Connall's Wake, where he was gifted many papers and books in Connall's will. Iggy retreated to Londinium to study the papers. He attended the Harts Grand Council, but was in subdued mood.
It soon became apparent why. Iggy disappeared from Londinium. Remy became concerned, and travelled from Warwick to search Iggy's cambers. There he found a letter explaining that Iggy had gone off to Cornwall, following information in one of Connall's documents. Remy dispatched a party to find him.
Iggy had been captured by a powerful band of outlaws calling
themselves the Gang of Four. He was tortured for weeks, before being
given to some bandits, who arranged to sell him to the captain of the
Black Orc for use as a figurehead. After he was rescued by the
Bacchus and other
Harts, the
wound in his leg proved resistant to healing.
At the
Moot Iggy was
appointed High Provost for the Harts. He had the chance to meet
Connall's spirit in a ritual performed by Kaithen. Connall admonished
Iggy for giving up telling stories and made him promise to start once
more.
Iggy has only once been a cunt.
