Grangemouth
1024 x 601
69K |
A print of this won me my first award at the Edinburgh Photographic
Society, in the beginners section. I think I gave it about a 6 second exposure. |
 |
Pineapple
512 x 768
124K |
I think this is at Dunmore, near Airth, near Kincardine on the River
Forth. This shot replaces the previous one. There are more pictures of this subject on
other pages in this section. |
 |
Breich-Forth
1024 x 768
157K |
A personal favourite, this shot of the 'roller-coaster' road from Breich
to Forth, a small Lanarkshire town near Shotts. Ilford FP4 developed in Acutol. |
 |
5 Sisters
800 x 600
98K |
The first of a few pictures of these shale bings created in the production
of paraffin. More on the next page. |
 |
Bathgate
800 x 532
98K |
In the distance there are two lonely streets on the hillside, namely
Napier Avenue and Crosshill Drive. In the foreground, in front of St Mary's Academy, is
British Leyland's truck factory - if memory serves me well. |

Bathgate

800 x 535
129K |
Further east along the same hill side is the Boghall housing estate. On
top of the hill is Whitelaw Drive and Limefield Crescent and Place. Boghall's streets are
all named after the Royal Family - except for Cowan Street. |
 |
Ingliston
1024 x 768
219K |
Note the complete absence of pirate CDs in this picture. I don't think CDs
had been invented when I took this shot. There weren't any home computers just yet. |
 |
Linlithgow
908 x 600
145K |
This is a fisheye picture of a bridge over the Union Canal at Linlithgow. |
 |
Livingston
513 x 768
75K |
I wandered about this place before it was open and was intrigued by the
geometry. There'll be other pictures waiting to emerge from my negative archives, no
doubt. |
 |
Motorway
1024 x 475
177K |
Another personal favourite. Taken on a hot summer's day using infrared
film and a long lens with a red filter. Yes, I parked on the hard shoulder and set up my
tripod - but the roads were somewhat less busy in the seventies. |
 |
M9 approach
1024 x 768
202K |
Where the Bo'ness to Linlithgow road crosses and connects with the M9.
Taken almost directly into the sun on a wet day. You can read the sign near the centre. |
