| God only knows what this is. Or probably not actually. Some sort of device (ionospheric sounder ? giant corkscrew ?) left amongst the debris of the abandoned Russian Druzhnaya II base fairly near to Berkner Island on Ronne Ice Shelf. Photographed on a day out in Feb 1988.
