The second phase was not completed because of the civil conflict which escalated after the coup in May 1997;

ACTIONAID Sierra Leone for donating a vehicle (1997) and providing some institutional support (1995-1997);

British High Commission (Sierra Leone) for funding a community tree nursery project at Lakka, Freetown, 1996 and the first and only edition of an ENFOSAL newsletter in April 1997;

German Embassy (Sierra Leone) for funding equipment and furniture for office and training centre in Freetown 1996-1997;

And finally the approximately 1500 ENFOSAL members in Sierra Leone, Ireland, UK, Germany and the USA through membership contributions in 1996-1997. A membership scheme for EFA will be designed to eventually replace the ENFOSAL one;

We also thank all the other individual volunteers and organisations who contributed by supporting in small and large ways: Catholic Relief Services (CRS), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Concern Worldwide, GOAL Ireland, etc.

EFA is serving as an "umbrella" organisation for its country programs.

The Liberia Program is today managed by EFA and will, in time, be managed by a local set-up.

The Sierra Leonean Program started off as a separate program under the name ENFOSAL – Environmental Foundation of Sierra Leone.
