Lying between the two nations is a chain of tiny islands known as Adam's Bridge. Sri Lanka is somewhat pear-shaped, with its apex in the north. The greatest length from north to south is about 440 km (273 mi); the greatest width is about 220 km (137 mi). The total area of Sri Lanka is 65,610 sq km (25,332 sq mi). The capital of Sri Lanka is the ancient city of Sri Jayavardhanapura-Kotte; Colombo is the largest city. "Proud of our Association". SRI LANKA AIR FORCE REGIMENT We now have a confirmed affiliation with the Sri Lanka Air Force Regiment. Their organisation was set up by former members of the Air Force Regiment, they recently formed a club referred to as the "SLAF Regiment Past Members Club" The aim of this organisation is not only to meet their former comrades in arms but also be of service to the community. With this in view they have undertaken projects to help the physically handicapped. Recently they donated twenty walking aids to "Sambodhi Nivasaya" a home for handicapped children in Galle. Over the years we hope to build on this fellowship with our Sri Lankaian friends, perhaps arrange a visit, the climate is very welcoming.
