GENERAL SIR MICHAEL ROSE, KCB, CBE, DSO, QGM.

General Sir Michael Rose was Commander of the UN Protection Force, Bosnia-Herzegovina from Jan 1993. He has also seen active service in the Middle and Far East, the Falklands and Northern Ireland. He has had many major Army roles. Since leaving the Army he has written and lectured extensively on peacekeeping and leadership, his latest book being 'Fighting for Peace', published in 1998. Amongst very many other decorations, General Rose was made Commandeur in the Legion d'Honneur by President Chirac. He was educated at Cheltenham College and St Edmund Hall, Oxford.

General Sir Michael Rose will be speaking at the St. Ermin's Hilton, Caxton Street in central London on Wednesday December 20th 2000. He will be talking about about his experiences of peacekeeping in Bosnia, the Treaty of Nice, and the advent of the European Rapid Reaction force. The event begins at 7.30pm and 10.30pm.
