He showed the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, and he depicted God the Father in the image of fire and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. The painting deteriorated very quickly, and after a great deal of litigation Titian had to paint it again, and it is the second version which is over the altar today."
