Back: Mark Duce, Simon Banoub, Richard Horton, Lee Longbottom, Steve Sedgwick, Scott Lyons, Lee Woods, Matt Hazel.
Front: Lee Monaghan and young Lee, Sam Goodall, Paul Unwin, John Newsome, Richard Noble, Andy Bowler and Shannon, Woody.
More comings and goings over the summer,
and inevitably another year of ups and downs.
One of the club's most promising new recruits, Geoff Knight, would be absent due to his travels,
and with him went Sam Sinclair:
Mark Wani had also left the Leeds area.
Before long, the club had lost the services of Mark Duce and Dave Ridsdale,
and when Yarny went down injured you might think there were more gaps to fill than players to fill them.
But the sun also rises, and this is HFFC, so as ever there were some tremendous arrivals too.
Baz Armstrong was a rock in defence or in midfield,
Chris Youngs emerged as a talented and dependable full-back on either flank,
while Richard Hudson and Sam Goodall gave the club some real luxury of resources down the left-hand side,
and Jamie Martin arrived from local rivals Horsforth Rangers to add a bit of competition in the midfield.
There was even some competition for the goalkeeper's jersey,
with new recruit Lee Longbottom starting the season,
and Jonathan Postle promising much as part of the club's longer-term plans,
but of course James Hunt was still very much the man in possession.
Ben Avison made several sound appearances in the back four,
where Sedge and Matt Hazel were generally the most regular calls in the centre.
Simon Banoub's talents as a central defender were revealed from time to time,
even if it was mainly on the left that he plied his trade.
Though, as usual, it was hard to perceive patterns,
Richard Horton and Lee Monaghan were most often to be found in central midfield,
the latter now adding the captaincy of the club to his achievements.
Richard Hudson was startlingly good either at left-back or left midfield,
but wasn't available often enough to make as much difference as he threatened.
Jamie and Baz, plus of course Gobby, also featured in the middle four.
Scott Lyons was another contender, though he had an in-and-out season as regards selection,
and serious injury at the back end of the campaign looked like it would rob the club
of one of its most popular players.
After an early-season hold-out, Simon Parker slipped back into gear as the team's talismanic centre-forward,
still a headache for any defence in the league, and top scorer yet again.
John Newsome was as worthy a foil as anyone could wish,
always working hard for the team's cause and unselfish to a fault,
and he had quite possibly his best season yet for the club.
Andy Bowler and Sam Goodall did their share of front-running duties,
when they could be spared from the midfield.
Lee Woods made yet another comeback, initially as an attacker,
but by the latter stages of the campaign had settled down to play some of his best football ever at right-back,
making with Chris Youngs a particularly sound full-back pairing.
The season essentially consisted a sequences of sound performances
interspersed with the odd hammering.
One such reverse was the League Cup exit on the opening day at the hands of Crossflatts,
though we would later take points from them that were to prove crucial in their crusade to become champions.
There were some narrow defeats, often on days when we'd played well enough to merit the points,
but, of more comfort, there were also a few occasions when we dug out a result through sheer will-to-win,
and that renewed team spirit may perhaps prove a more significant portent for the future.
