Around the start of the 1993-94 season,
Minny had a dream that we'd get to the cup final this year,
and this was indeed to be the first season in which the club had achieved
any degree of success in knock-out competitions.
Paul Blair took over from bike crash victim Toastie in the attack,
and Bruce Tremlett returned after a ten-year absence.
Though Bruce - and Dave Vernon - contributed greatly to the season's success,
few would deny that it was the partnership between Paul and Minny
that gave the side a match-winning edge in many key games.

Front: Russell Gable, Simon Cockill, Craig Carter, Sean Taylor, Bernie Gilmore, Lee Monaghan, Martin Woods.
The highlight of the campaign was of course the run in the Mawson Trophy,
the Combination League's league cup for sides in the lower divisions,
in which we beat FC Haigh 4-1 at Roundhay, Pack Horse 1-0 at Middleton
and Unicorn 4-0 in a memorable home Quarter-Final,
then destroyed an excellent Troydale side in the Semi-Final at Lockwood Farm,
and lost a thrilling final at Farsley Celtic's ground 4-3
to the awesomely good Swinnow Hotel.
The team on that great day was: Bernie Gilmore in goals;
Scott Wilkinson, Sean Taylor, Kelvin Tapley and Simon Cockill in defence;
John Steenson, Martin Woods, Lee Monaghan and Craig Carter in midfield;
and Minny and Paul up front. Woody, Minny and Paul scored the goals.
Dave Vernon and Craig Oddy were subs, and others who contributed in the run to the final were
Bruce, Tony Bowler (or Smith), Lee Heywood, Dave Hall ("Sonic"), Tony Jowsey and Steve Burns.

Whether anybody believed us or not,
it was claimed that the main aim was always to do well in the league,
and this season we also managed enough points to get promoted again.
This was in spite of a crowded fixture list at the end of the spring,
and being in the same division as two of the strongest teams in the whole of Leeds -
Swinnow and New Inn Churwell. Other than at the hands of these clubs,
we suffered only one league defeat all season.
As well as the above stalwarts, mention should be made of Rick Dalton and Andy Constable,
who topped the squad up when necessary.
The 3-2 win over a very sturdy Omnibus side at Belle Isle, after being two down,
was probably the most significant result in a season
which also deserves to remain unforgotten for bringing the club a key promotion,
from Division Four to Division Three.
