NEW CAMPAIGN FORUM
The Campaign for True English Identity embraces OLD English Nationalism acting as a vehicle for understanding our true Saxon origins. Our purpose is about establishing a forgotten identity and to begin with, we will work upon two basic aims;
- A flag that represents the Anglo Saxon English nationality prior to the 1066 conquest incorporating either a white or gold dragon upon a red background.
- The reinstatement of St Edmund as patron saint of England.
English Nationalism with the prospect of devolution is very much a vibrant force within British politics so if England goes it alone to become a nation state - its true origins, buried for over nine hundred years and only dismissed as the "Dark Ages" MUST be allowed to rise from denial!
By 2066 - the thousand year milestone of the Norman Conquest will we still be flying the flag of our conquerors, a French ruling elite that once hoped to subjugate the English language? Will we still be celebrating a foreign patron saint who never set foot on these isles and lived long before the formation of England?
In this age of English Nationalism it is time to set the record STRAIGHT and educate our future generations the way in which Wulfstan Archbishop of York once suggested 1000 years ago;
"There is a need that each of us should understand where they came from, what they are and what will become of them"
