I thought it would be pleasant to be able to see images from RIVEN & MYST when we are not playing the games. Screen capture bitmaps are HUGE to download, take up computer memory, and don't fill  the screen or look good when stretched, so I have worked at making seamless bitmaps which could be tiled as wallpaper for WINDOWS.

These bitmaps don't look much until they are tiled, as they are specially built for the purpose. You can't really tell what they will look like, or whether you will like them until you have tried them as wallpaper, so don't judge them from the thumbnails - try one or two and see what I mean. I find the best tiles are often among those that look the least interesting by themselves. . . and don't be put off by the darkness of some of the images on these pages - there is a lot of detail in them which you will see when they are tiled.

Clicking on a thumbnail picture of a tile will download a ZIPped bitmap (16 million colours for RIVEN, 256 Colours for MYST). They vary in size and shape (the thumbnails retain the 'aspect ratio'), and I include the ZIPfile size in the description. I hope you enjoy them.

NB for people who run their desktop in 256 colours. Only the MYST tiles will look good for you - unless you play around with the bitmaps a bit. There are several possibilities. Email me if you want details.
