MIDDLE LEVEL COMMISSIONERS Middle Level Acts 1810-1874 Suspension of Navigation Notice is hereby given that navigation of the Old River Nene from its junction with the Forty Foot River to a point 30 metres north of Wells Bridge will be closed from Monday 19th February 2007 to Tuesday 27th February 2007 inclusive. This closure is necessary to enable Cambridgeshire County Council to demolish and reconstruct Wells Bridge. Navigation may be affected by ancillary works prior to and following the closure and boaters intending to navigate this stretch of water are advised to contact the County Council's contractors Wrekin Construction on tel. no 07771 814914 (Michael Rochelle) for current information. MIDDLE LEVEL COMMISSIONERS MIDDLE LEVEL ACTS 1810-1874 SUSPENSION OF NAVIGATION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:- Navigation of Salter's Lode Lock and of Well Creek from the Lock up to the Environment Agency bridge approximately 200 metres upstream of the Lock will be closed from Monday 5th February 2007 to Monday 5th March 2007. The closure is necessary to enable de-silting works inside the Salter's Lode Lock Pen to be undertaken and to remove any ingress of silt in the Well Creek in the immediate area upstream of the Lock. Temporary Closure of Recreational Waterway NOTICE is hereby given under Section 15 of the Anglian Water Authority Act 1977 as amended by the Water Act 1989, that the following locks will be closed to navigation on the River Great Ouse: Bottisham Lock (River Cam) from 26 February 2007 until 5 April 2007 (inclusive) to drain down and inspect the lock chamber and refurbish the guillotine gate and vee doors. Hemingford Lock from 5 March 2007 until 5 April 2007 (inclusive) to drain down and inspect the lock chamber and refurbish the guillotine gate. Isleham Lock (River Lark) from 16 April 2007 until 14 May 2007 (inclusive) to drain down and inspect the lock chamber. Castle Mills Lock from 5 March 2007 until 5 April 2007 (inclusive) to demolish and reconstruct the downstream landing stage. St Neots Lock - EMERGENCY CLOSURE: from 12th March 2007 – 16th March 2007 inclusive to drain down and carry out remedial works to the lock doors. The closure date may vary slightly due to possible adverse weather conditions. (This closure has been delayed by 1 week due to high flows). Castle Mills Lock from 12 March 2007 until 5 April 2007 (inclusive) to demolish the downstream landing stage in preparation for constructing the new landing stage. Access to Castle Mills Lock will be restricted from Friday 6 April to Friday 4 May 2007 (inclusive) to enable the construction of new landing stages. The navigation will remain open, but there may be periods when boat traffic is halted for safety reasons. Please observe signs and instructions issued by the contractors on site. On-going high flow conditions have unfortunately resulted in delays to works and the Environment Agency regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
