HISTORY OF OXENFORD

Oxenford Farm is a traditional working farm that has been growing Christmas Trees for over 40 years. Originally it was a Ley farm for Waverley Abbey in the 12th Century complete with carp pond. We have a number of unusual buildings which were designed by Augustus Pugin built in 1840. The building in the picture is the Gothic 'Tythe' barn, with a view across the carp pond.

The Farm enterprises, along with Christmas Trees, are traditionally raised beef cattle, arable including rye, wheat and barley. The woodlands are gradually being restored back to traditional coppice rotation.
