SASL II is
coming soon !
MMP have let it be known that SASL II is in the works and will cover all the remaining Nationalities not covered in the first module. Hopefully it will include generation tables for the Axis Minor forces that will become available with the release of Armies of the Oblivion, later this year? It will also include new missions, to supplement those listed below.
A must for all interested in, or those looking at, Solitaire ASL
for the first time is Robert Delwood’s excellent article “SASL IS NOT ASL”.
This can be found in Issue Two of the ASL Journal. Robert covers the important
area that explains that SASL does not play in the same way as a face-to-face
game of ASL and anyone who expects it to do so has missed the point. SASL is an
alternative way to play utilising the ASL components, but without the need for
an opponent. If you have not been interested in SASL before hopefully Robert’s
article will whet your appetite.
Historical SASL is also an area just starting to be seriously
looked at, with the aim of allowing the current HASL campaigns to be converted
to SASL and allow the full campaign games to be enjoyed by the solitaire
player. The Red Barricade Missions where the first step down this path, however
it will not be an easy task and so will take time. Watch this space!

bridge. They could get counterattacked whilst trying to hold on until the main
body of forces arrives.
