Devon Squad Selections

After two well attented Devon County Training seesions held at our Totnes Dojo on May 31st and June 7th, it was time to select the county team for the Devon Open Inter-County team championships, to be held in Exmouth on the 14th June.

It turned out to be a very disappointing end to some very hard work by every player who attended these training sessions. Just before I was to tell the players the team, I was told by the Devon Chairman Mr Alan Kimber the event had to be canceled, as only one other county apart from Devon had entered. It was such a shame for the players who would have been selected to fight for the Devon squad. The players from our club who would have been selected in the squad were:

• Louise Townsend

All I can say is that you all deserved your place in the squad and next time your chance will come.

It is a great honour to be asked to fight for your county. The only way to be selected is to attend county training sessions, so ask your coach when your county's training seesions are on.
