Defensive Spells :-
Esterine does not normally have short duration defensive magics in operation at all times, due to the risk of wild surges if she has to keep casting spells week upon week.
Wildshield, Invisible Mail, Armour, Counterspell Immunity (versus Power Word Stun) and Stoneskin can be considered to be in operation at all times.
During adventures she also casts Contingency (usually a Sarius Golden Stars of Protection, but sometimes another Wildshield, Alternate Reality or Teleport), Surge Selector, Shield, Talisman of Wild Luck, Mind Blank, Chain Contingency (usually a Thunderstaff/Prismatic Wall combination), Mass Invisibility on the party, Elemental Aura (usually Earth or Water), and sometimes Spell Immunity.

Thanks to a recent surge in Greyhawk City while worldhopping (and the subsequent charge of 164 counts of magical assault) her debts currently stand at a little over 150,000gp.
Esterine has a noble bearing and is always well groomed... The Red Curse has had something of an effect upon her, but over time the red tones have begun to fade and her natural colours have revealed themselves. When adventuring she wears the black breeches and white blouse of a Swashbuckler but otherwise prefers the typical dresses worn by a noblewoman of the Savage Coast. Often wears thick fur lined cloaks of varying colours. She suffered from a form of schizophrenia for some time, from which she only recently recovered, and this has left its mark. She is almsot childlike in some ways, appearing to be naieve in many ways, although in fact she has a sharp mind. Kind, gentle, and not very assertive, she is quiet, preferring others to lead and do the talking, but when necessary she can take command - a skill learnt during a spell as a lecturer at the Great School of Magic. She finds the phenomenon of wild magic fascinating, and spends every spare moment of her time studying the subject - she has a voracious thirst for knowledge, which she is prepared to go to great lengths to obtain, and she enjoys committing it to paper so that others may learn from her efforts.
The eldest of four aranea born to Lady Vala Lorelin of Reslar, a minor noble in the Kingdom of Eusdria. Her mother was a member of the secret society known as the Order of the Venom, a terrorist organisation dedicating to promoting aranean superiority over all other races on the Savage Coast. The Lady Vala raised her children to be productive members of that Society, but with little success. Esterine was sufficiently rebellious to refuse to study the art of Enchantment, as her mother wished, instead studying Wild Magic in the Kingdom of Herath under the famed wild mage Thrathmaron. Returned to Eusdria, where she half heartedly carried out her mothers espionage missions - for which she married an elf, Eirik Forestwalker of the Company of the Wolf, in an arranged marriage. She probably would have continued in her safe, boring lifestyle if one day a deranged Knight of Halav, Karl Gauss, hadn't turned up on her doorstep, intent on killing her. In the ensuing battle Eirik was killed and Esterine's mind severely damaged, resulting in schizophrenia and memory loss. Barely comprehending of what she was doing, she then met up with the adventurer Billy the Kid and company in the State of Almarron, whom she latched onto for protection against the assassins her mother sent to bring her in before she revealed anything in her unstable condition. The mental damage healed over time, and her sister Lillith turned her fully away from her evil past by vanquishing her old personality in the Demiplane of Nightmares, leaving only the new personality formed in the time since Felmont 1000A.C, when Karl Gauss attacked her. Esterine has since created a new life for herself in Glantri City, where her mastery of Wild Magic, a branch of magical study rare in the Principalities, ensured her success as a lecturer at the Great School of Magic. Thanks to a run in with a Deck of Many Things she is now a Baroness and has her own dominion and castle - though her spare time is devoted almost exclusively to magical research rather than the day to day business of running her barony.
