The First Day of 1014AC....

• The Priest-King, Gildesh II, has been exhorting the enduks of Eshu to prepare for another assault on the Kingdom of Nimmur. The enduks recently took the manscorpion town at Um-Shedu, and plan to drive into Nimmur itself in the coming year. It seems likely that the ee'aar, longtime allies of Eshu, will assist.
• Nimmur, long known for it's isolationism and xenophobia, has recently opened up it's borders. King Anupalassar seems to recognise the value of free trade at last, and has allowed Vilaverdan traders to open operations within his lands. It is likely that Anupalassar intends to take a slice of the profits for himself, of course.
• Rakasta hunters from Bellayne continue to press into Shazak territory, despite complaints from the locals living there. King Shaz is expected to make a formal complaint to Queen Catherine, who is suspected of encouraging the rakasta of Wyndham to range into Shazak territory.
• The Civil War in Eusdria is finally over. The last few pockets of dissent have been quashed, and King Sigismund once more knows that his nation is firmly behind him. Doubtless this will signal that he will again attempt to pursue his dream - to unite the Savage Coast under a Eusdrian banner. Needless to say, the rulers of the neighbouring kingdoms will have their own plans.
• Narvaez has been licking it's wounds in the recent wars, but Inquisitors have started appearing in several neighbouring Baronies. Hugo once more appears to be taking the flame of Ixion to the "heathen", which could even cause a new round of religious wars in the Savage Baronies.
• Don Esteban of Almarron has been seen contacting LB Trading guild representatives in search of a loan. The forces of Baron Maximiliano, led by the Baron's personal guard captain Tristen Medina, recently routed the Dictator of Almarron's poorly led army, but Esteban appears not to have given up yet, and is seeking funds to continue the fight.
• And finally, a strange rakasta was found by Queen Catherine in her shower last night. Although Her Majesty immediately summoned the guards upon discovering the intruder, the strange individual disappeared before he could be apprehended. His motives and identity remain an enigma.
