Lardos resort and Lardos village
Lardos is the resort to choose if you want to have a quiet and relaxing couple of weeks in the sun. The beach is good, soft sand and quite clean. Lying on a sunbed is probably the most that you can expect for entertainment in the Lardos Bay area. The resort called Lardos is small, untraditional and has its fair share of holiday homes for the wealthy Greeks. Nightlife in the resort, centres mainly around the hotels and a couple of bars, although the handful of restaurants serve decent quality cosmopolitan food. Lardos seems to be a growing resort and some building work is taking place but this is generally in winter when the place closes down.

Lardos village is a couple of kilometres inland and this is the place to head for at night for the variety of meals you will want after a few nights of pizza in the resort. The old Lardos village has a central square where the locals sit in the evenings, watching the traffic. Some of the taverna owners have been taken by supprise by the influx of tourists and can't seem to cope if two or three couples enter their establishments at the same time and want serving. A recommended taverna, just off the main square is Valentina's. If you go, ask for 'woodpecker'.

The walk to Lardos village is mainly on footpaths, a rare sight in Greece. You will find the souvenir shop, supermarket, pastry shops and even a bookmaker where you will be able to place a bet on a pools coupon, containing both English and Italian football league teams.

Lardos is just down the road from Pefkos and is a reasonable walking distance. The resort is flat and if you are content to stay in the resort, suitable for the less mobile. Busses regularly link the resort to Lindos and Rhodes Town if you're in any need for some action.

The transfer time from Rhodes International Airport or the ferries in Rhodes Town, is about one and a half hours.
