This site is aimed towards students who are currently studying vocational courses such as GNVQ in Business. The site provides links to good sources of information which are helpful when writing assignments. Also as part of the course it is necessary to gain a good grade to provide additional sources of information to those which you already have. This web page will be the additional source as well as other sources listed below. I shall also attempt to provide a good area for current up-to-date assignments to be stored. I will ensure that my own assignments where possible are on this site and readers who are studying for the qualification can also request to have their assignments stored on the page. With this site, students should be able to understand the changing syllabus of GNVQ and still ensure they gain their maximum potential.
In order to keep this site up-to-date and of value I would appreciate help from students, teachers and professionals in the business area.

I have included various assignments that have been done in the past on this page. These have been put here so that you can see the quality of information used and various resources used. Many people have the impression that GNVQ is a soft option compared to A-levels because there are no long exams, but judge for yourself based on the number of assignments that are needed.
I would be most grateful for people to give me any assignments that they have done on computer so that I can add them to the site for others to use as reference. My aim is for at least one assignment to every specified performance criteria in the GNVQ syllabus.
Information seeking is a vital part of any assignment and can have a great impact on your overall grade. It is essential that you use as many sources as possible to complete a task providing they are relevant. When trying to score highly for the "Information Seeking" grade you need to be aware that it is worth 1/4 of your final grade.

These are useful people who shall be able to offer support regarding the structure and grading for the GNVQ. If you have a specific problem with the course there are some useful contacts you can use on this page.
This is a new section of the site, which was included due to demand from students. This part of the site shall help deal with student difficulties which have arisen from completing the GNVQ. Students are able to voice their opinions and together they can be put direct to GNVQ to offer alternatives.
This part of the site shall in the future offer leisure services to students such as organised holidays abroad and generally the student life, such as pub crawls and other events. Student Assistance shall also offer support to students who need a more individual and human response to their queries from information seeking to guidance on how to get the best grades from their situation.
As this part of the site is new please consider that it takes time and a lot of effort and it is likely that the pages which follow are under construction. If you can help in creating the site in any way please let me know.
I am currently in the second year of the Advanced GNVQ Business course at Huntington Sixth Form, York. I hope to have a good portion of this site completed, because at the moment (18/12/96) it is in its development stage and not much use to anyone. A site such as this will help increase the presence of GNVQ in the eyes of University Admissions Tutors and generally its credibility with employers. I personally feel that GNVQ should be treated equally to that of A-levels, I would like to see more Universities stating in their requirements for courses the GNVQ qualification as well as the A-Level points.
This site shall prove to be a well used bookmark for any GNVQ student studying business.
