Operation Hell on Earth

She really hates this part of the job. The stench. The darkness. The sliminess and the wetness. Mostly, the stench. She's never going to get it out of her hair.
Something swirls past her in the dark water and she tries very hard not to imagine what it could be.
"I got seniority," she mutters to her companion. "How come I'm the one ends up down the sewer." She knows the answer. Perp flushes evidence, CSI retrieves it.
"Operation Hell on Earth."
That earns a grin and then a strong hand catches her as she stumbles. Okay. Maybe not hell...
