She counts the steps off in her head.
One... two... three... turn.
It's slowly driving her insane. Her fingers tighten on her pencil, her eyes blurring as she tries to make sense of the report laid out on the bench in front of her.
Again. One... two...
She gets it. She does. Time sensitive evidence, a suspect about to flee and no way to stop him unless they can get a warrant.
Doesn't mean it's making her any less crazy. One... two...
Her pencil snaps and so does she.
"Nick! Sit!"
The startled look on his face is worth it.
