Part 1 of 1
Standby

Chris slams his hand down on the TV. “What is the matter with this thing?" He growls and stares at the buttons.

I watch as his partner strolls up to him and looks at the dead TV screen. “What did you do to it now?"

Blue eyes blazed. “Me? Why should is be me? Can´t it just be that the damn thing is broken?

“It´s not broken," Richards interjects from his chair, “I used it yesterday."

“Then you broke it!"

“I did not break it!"

“Hey." Sam puts a hand on his partner´s arm and peers at the hacker. “Nobody broke it, okay."

“Let me try." Spencer pushes into the bundled mix and pulls out the plug. Using his fast fingers and a screwdriver he unscrews the screws of the plug and looks down in surprise at the ball of Prestik pressed in between the wires. Three pairs of eyes glance over at the hacker and Richards sinks back in his chair.

“Honestly!" He shouts appalled and grabs a magazine from his desk flinging it open. “What kind of person would do such a thing?"

Back in goes the screws and a few seconds later the plug is pushed back into the wall. Spencer pushes the ON button but still nothing happens.

I´m seriously trying to hide my laughter as I watch the three of them working hard to understand what is wrong with the TV. When the cat is away the mouse comes out to play and that is exactly what is happening. Malone is away on a meeting with the Prime Minister and we don´t have anything to do, well not really.

I must say I wasn´t much surprised when Chris came in this morning with his Playstation under his arm. That man can hardly sit still for five minutes, what not to say of a whole day. Now the problem was getting the TV to work. A harsh word drifts past my ears and I look into Sam glaring at the American with his finger pointed at the screen.

“What would you like me to do about it?"

“How about trying to flirt it better?"

“Don´t make me hurt you!"

Chris pushes himself closer their noses almost touching. “Is that suppose to scare me?!"

I shake my head and quickly jump off the chair before they really jump on each other. Their eyes burn down on me when I push them out of the way before pushing the big black button. The screen flashes ON and I looked up at them with a grin. “It was on Standby."

The End
