Well agents you have come this far, congratulations
on at least considering your own mission. Please read
the rules of engagement, they are here for your benefit
as well as ours. HQ would very much appreciate that you
use them. If in violation of the rules HQ may have to
reject your report.
You may also wish to use a beta reader.
Beta readers are the fanfiction equivalent of editors.
In the most basic sense they can proof read documents
for spelling and grammer errors, however they can also
provide input into plot development, give you pointers
on story structure, and provide feedback on characterisation.
We have a list of volunteer beta readers here.
Please let your proposed beta reader know what type of
beta you require (i.e. do you just require feedback on
spelling or grammer, or would you like a more thorough
beta).
Please note that betaing is not a requirement
for you to have your story archived here. It's purely
a personal preference. It's just we wouldn't know what
to do without them :)
General
Rules
-
All stories submitted should have some
reference to a CI5 mission. If the story does not
deal with our operatives it is probably not suitable
for this reference source. Mission reports which mention
other organisations and civilians as well as CI5 are,
however, quite welcome.
-
All reports filed in the database should be your
own work. We will not accept submissions on the part
of anyone else and we take a very dim view of plagiarism.
Just remember how much trouble the British Government
got into for that very issue.
-
HQ is aware that certain of our agents may have a
different view on certain events in the official mission
reports. Please state clearly on your submitted report
if your mission contains any information which would
place it in the following categories: Adult or Slash.
-
Agents will be expected to rate their reports for
violence and language as well as the above criteria.
Either the American (PG-13, NC-17 etc) rating system
or the British (PG, 12, 15, 18 etc) will be accepted.
-
We would also be grateful if agents could provide
a summary of the mission report for inclusion in the
introduction section.
-
As stated in the future
missions section we will not accept mission reports that are racist,
homophobic, illegal or would otherwise incite hate
crimes. That is contrary to the ethos of CI5.
-
All submissions should contain a dislaimer
for any copyright material they may contain
-
We reserve the right to refuse to include any mission
reports in our database.
Submitting
Via Email
For those submitting via email, use the
button below and attach your files to the email. Your
documents should follow the style guide. Please ensure
that as well as attaching the document you include a rating,
summary and the category the report should be filed within
(general, adult or slash).

-
Style guide:
-
All reports should be in plain text
or RTF format.
-
Each paragraph should be spaced
from other paragraphs by a clear line. This means
an extra return character, not any special formating
from a word processor.
-
Scene breaks should be indicated
by ~*~
-
No HTML formatting should be included,
which also means no <> used as emphasis.
-
No indents of any kind should be
placed in the text. No tab characters and no spaced
indents.
-
All reports should have an extra
line between paragraphs, i.e. a hard return between
paragraphs. For an example of this, you can visit
fiction already archived here.
Submitting Via the Web
Agents may submit their reports in parts
if they so wish. Each part should be no longer than 250
lines, and the part number should be clearly marked. Fill
in the following form using the style guide above and
then click the submit button.
