Yes, it's that time of year again...no,
not the post-Xmas or New Year blues, not even the run
up to Valentine's Day...it's the run up to when the tax
returns have to be sent to the Inland Revenue on 31st
of Jan...oh joy.
So it got me thinking...how would the boys
fill out theirs? Would they get Backup to do it? Or would
Richards hack into the IR system and thus eradicate the
need? What would they put under 'professional expenses'?
Humourous or serious it's up to you...the
deadline of course is 31st January.
If anyone thinks the reason I'm posting
this is because I've become mentally unhinged filling
my own one in you're probably right...
Love 'n' hugs Charlotte xx

Since these lists have been quite quiet
recently with the RL Christmas rush and everything, Al
and I though we'd issue a new challenge to see if we can
spark people's interest. *g*
So...a New Year Challenge.
What do Sam and Chris do over New Year?
Are they on duty? Do they spend the day together, or with
their respective families/friends? What New Years Resolutions
do they make, if any? Can they keep to them once they're
made?
*g*
Lots of questions, and we want to know
the answers. <unsubtle hint>
Hope everyone has a great Christmas,
Love Al and Jen xx

November 2001
Jan and I were talking again last night,
about words and how some of them have wonderful sounds,
and roll around the tongue and don't get used enough and...
We came up with another challenge <g>
Below are 20 words we'd like to see used
in a story. Again, no rules other than you have to use
all of them and only once (not that I think you'll be
wanting to use them more than once <g>). Some of
them are a little... unusual <g> so you might want
to use something like www.dictionary.com if they're a
little unfamiliar.
Well, we were bored! <g> And evil,
of course. But that goes without saying <g>
1. Verisimilitude
2. Consanguinity
3. Languid
4. Nonchalance
5. Serendipity
6. Desquamation
7. Satiation
8. Approbation
9. Dishabille
10. Esoteric
11. Succulent
12. Culmination
13. Lubricious
14. Loquacious
15. Silkiness
16. Somnolent
17. Harmonious
18. Fervent
19. Irascible
20. Preternatural

Some of you may remember that last year,
when Lou and I worked out when Sam's birthday was (June)
I issued a fic challenge - write a Sam's birthday fic.
Well, it's almost June again. So I'm issuing
another challenge <g> However, this time it's Chris'
turn. Since we don't know when the poor love's birthday
actually is, I don't want him to lose out. So the challenge
for the month of June 2001 is:
Write a Chris' birthday fic. It can be happy,
sad, sexy, funny, as mad or as angsty as you want. There
are only two rules:
i) Chris' birthday must be an integral part
of the story
ii) deadline is 30th June
Have fun

Dinah - Just
Kisses

Claire - The
Final Kiss
Write a story about kissing. It can be a
dribble or a drabble, a little scene, a full blown fic.
Gen, Adult, Slash. Silly, funny, sweet, angsty as hell.
Doesn't matter. The only rules are:
i) it has to feature at least one CI5 character
(and not necessarily Sam, Chris or even Backup)
ii) kissing has to be the main purpose of
the fic. It can be a serious kiss, the kiss of death (think
Judas), kissing their granny, anything, but that has to
be the focus
iii) no sex - kissing only. No kissing just
to get to the juicy bits! If you're going down the romance
route (and I wouldn't blame you :)) then it's *just* kissing.
With me?
Have fun :)

Jan - Die
Nasty aka Dynasty
One of the writer's lists I'm on had a
challenge recently, about writing a fic in the style of
a soap opera and I thought it would be funny if we had
something similar.
So the challenge is to write a New Professionals story
in the style of an American soap, i.e. not Eastenders
(far too depressing :)) It can be as outrageous
and as wacky as you like - evil twins, illegitimate children,
murder, mayhem, kidnap by aliens, waking up in the shower
to find it's all been a dream. Or it could be as
serious as you like. Just make it soapy.

A New Pros assignment with you as a character(as a good
guy presumably). Can be a crossover, include self-parody,
involve you shagging one of the characters, whatever.

For those of you who don't know this, CI5
Operational Control will be a year old on 1 Feb 2001.
In celebration of this, I'm issuing the following challenge:
Write an anniversary story. The guys have
been together for a year. If it's slash, they've been
in a relationship for a year. If adult or gen, they've
been partners for a year. Who knows? Maybe they have to
undergo an annual partnership review and that gets them
thinking. :)
The only rules are that a first anniversary
of some sort needs to feature and the deadline is 1 Feb
2001. So get your writing hats on and pens in hand :)

Alyse - All
I Want for Christmas
What do CI5 agents do at Xmas? I had
some ideas for silly presents (Fluffy bunny slippers -
Curtis would look great in those. Alyse had the wicked
idea of Keel and a Tigger toy) but what about serious
sentimental presents? And do they sit down to watch
the Queen's speech after dinner with a glass of sherry
or do they do something a little more risque? Do
they even believe in Xmas at all
or are they just too cynical for that kind of thing?

Two
Little Boys
I'd like to know about the first time Sam and Chris
were working as a team, under the "classic" premise
of the "buddy-movie" that they didn't like each other
in the beginning. Which might not be that improbable.
Take for example these (IMO rather forced and awkward)
lines Sam says in the pilot in the hospital-scene about
Malone's thoughts when partnering them: "the impulsive
Yankee and the cool Brit". Sounds like a clash of characters,
doesn't it?
So how did it go?
Anybody remembering this crime series with Roger Moore
and Tony *Curtis* (called "The Two" in German television)
with a "Brit" and a "Yankee" who were quite different
working together? They started their partnership with
a barroom fight... But Curtis and Keel are too professional
for this, aren't they? What do you think?
