General Drabbles by Loui

Dark

His eyes were consumed by the darkness that lay in front of him.

It had texture… it had shape… it had form… it was calling to him.

He had to resist. He had to. He must not succumb to its dark lure. It taunted him. The darkness in front of him seemed to call out to him… ‘Give yourself up to me´… submit.

It was too strong… he had to… it was… it was… BLISS.

Sam Curtis sighed and munched happily on the dark chocolate that some evil soul had put in the CI5 vending machine. He LOVED dark chocolate.

Silence

Silence.

Bowed heads and silence was an unusual and unsettling sight here, an air of emptiness permeated the control room.

Gentle bickering… quiet laughter…

Noise encompassed the silence. Two men sauntered into the room, life stirred as they passed. Eyes lightened, lips smiled, a murmur of conversation began with the two but continued once they´d passed.

The two men approached him. An American voice said, “Hi, Sir.” Its English partner, its seemingly destined counterpart, said, “Mission accomplished.” Malone smiled. Yes, indeed. Mission accomplished. Curtis and Keel were back. CI5 would be back to normal by the end of the day.
