We managed to carry on until about 1978 -9, if my memory
serves me correctly, and split up due to lack of interest on all our parts!
I was then offered a full-time gig with a british/american band touring
Germany, Holland & Belgium, which I did for a couple of fairly successful
years.
After that band split up I got together with Pete Reynolds
again and had a go at getting a new band together, which lasted for 4 gigs
only, even though we sounded pretty good as a unit.
Thye Mynx Band decided to have another go after I left
with one or two new guitar players, but fizzled out eventually unfortunately.
That was about it until 5 years ago when all the original
Mynx Band members met up again (minus Gavin who lives in Florida) for several
recording sessions of new songs. Then in 2001 the 3 of us tried a gig with
a new drummer & piano player, which went OK, then another in 2002 (hectic
schedule, eh?) which was much better.
Since then, as Pete lives and works in St Martin in the
Lesser Antilles, and only comes to the UK once a year, me and Daman got
together with Jane (vocals) and my 14 year old son James on drums and played
at a party, which was good fun. We hope to do some more gigs (famous last
words) but as Daman lives 4 hours away in Gloucester it is a bit difficult.
Anyway, hope this is of interest, please let me know
if you need any more info of what's been going on since those early days
at the Isenhurst Social Club! One of the few memories I have of that place
is being caught helping ourselves to a pint or two when we were rehearsing,
and being asked to leave, permanently!
