On 11th July 2004 I realised a dream and got to play with a musical hero of 34 years standing, Rockette Morton. We had been in touch via email, and I had met him at several Magic Band gigs. We'd talked about doing something together, and I had sent him our 'Dust' CD, as well as one of my solo efforts. Gradually the idea turned into a project, and a 'live' studio session was duly arranged for after the Magic Band's summer 2004 UK tour. Fortuitously Rockette was staying on in the UK for a few days after the tour, in E Sussex, where 3/5ths of the Fourfathers reside.
Rockette was friendly and gracious throughout, saying it was an honour for him to be playing with US(!)
We hadn't really had time to plan what to do, so we just went for it, jamming together for 4 longish numbers,
and tried out our song 'Squirrel & the Shrew' from 'Dust'. Rockette played guitar throughout, slide and standard tunings.
