Beefheart albums? If so, all studio releases, a few live albums (Somebody in my Home etc), and a few other releases (Dust Sucker etc)
Albums in total, 650+9. HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & THE MAGIC BAND,
AND WAS THERE A PARTICULAR SONG THAT MADE YOU SEE THE LIGHT?:I "discovered" Captain Beefheart around 5 years ago, when looking through my fathers CD's and found Frank Zappa's "Hot Rats". I played it, and was blown away by the guy singing "Willie the Pimp". I then got a loan of"Safe as Milk" from a teacher at school who heard "The Gumbo Variations" through my headphones while sitting in a lesson, and asked if I was a Captain Beefheart fan as well as a Zappa one. At the time, I was not really a fan of either (I was 14 years old at the time), and said he would lend me some stuff. From then on, I was hooked. I went on to buy the albums in order of their release (skipping "Decals" as I couldn't find it anywhere), but had a 3 month lapse in buying after "Bluejeans and Moonbeams". When I got over the trauma of that, I bought "Shiny Beast", and was gutted that I didnt buy it 3 months earlier! I had missed out on 3 months of potential listening time! When I bought "Ice Cream for Crow", and first heard the cowbell ending on "Skeleton Makes Good", I was a really a bit gutted that I head heard it all. There was no more to come after this point. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE listening to the captain, but there is nothing better than listening to something great, that you have never heard before
