basically I rebel at this linear list and have not had the time to completely absorb everything I have had
access to.  I grew up in the AOR world and appreciate its sense of order over the 'pop' song fixation of
the masses.  however, beefhearts creation of individual songs w the MB arrangements seem to hold
more importance over album creation, except for TRM and Decals.  the others may be album/concept
oriented w/out me being aware, but I do tend to look at individual songs as individual creations w/in a
historical context which is also shadowed/buttressed/biased by my introduction and my own context
(when I learned the song etc), so  . . . this listing is subject to immediate and complete rearrangement.

      9. HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & THE MAGIC BAND,
      10 yrs time ago some buds played TRM incessantly.  I of course held onto the dearly beloved hendrix
     and stones stuff without hearing anything else by CB&HMB. recently another bud brought home the
     SAM BuddHA remaster which floored me.  then I discovered the radar station where I greedily picked
     up everything, then the Grow Fins box and now I struggle to buy everything I can find.

     some early age piano, but nothing really.  have spent many years at band practices
     critiquing/encouraging/helping with arrangements, remixing/editing but not playing anything
     myself -- why they put up with me I don't know. but if it don't sound right it just don't.
