 I can't do this except to say I rate them all equally (although possibly decals is the best moment when the marimba comes in) but there are 4 albums which i could not buy when first released (although i have heard them all); Clear Spot ( a rehash of his best bits or so it seemed then) Unconditionally Guaranteed, Bluejeans & moonbeams were just awful/embarassing and Ice Cream for Crow had just run out of steam. (i have now got a copy of clear spot as it does have some snappy moments) Actually my favourite of the moment is Somebody in my Home (the Live in Amsterdam paradiso club CD from 1980)

 9. HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & THE MAGIC BAND,
 AND WAS THERE A PARTICULAR SONG THAT MADE YOU SEE THE LIGHT?:
On John  Peel's radio show (TopGear), first thing i remember was 'beatle bones  and smokin stones' from strictly personal, like nothing I had ever
 heard before, and the great trademark wordplay, and then when Peel  started playing tracks from his import/pre release copy of Troutmask I
 had to get Safe as Milk and Strictly personal whilst waiting for troutmask's release in the UK

 10. NUMBER OF BEEFHEART  GIGS SEEN, AND WHICH YEARS:
The spotlight kid  & clear spot  tours at Birmingham Town Hall (72/73?),
the  reformed magic band with air base/trombone Bruce Fowler at Liverpool in nov 75
and  the 1980 UK tour seen twice at  Loughborough University &  Birmingham Odeon
that must be 5 or 6 times? The main thing I got from seeing the live shows was Don's humour/keeping everyone guessing.
