[That was REALLY difficult – almost impossible. The top few swing with my mood so I’ve had to =joint them. And although BJ&M is bottom - it contains one of my favourite tracks…]
7. TOP 10 OTHER ACTS:
[It probably goes without saying, but just for the record, I’d like to add that CB&tMB have been my favourite ‘act’ for some time now. In no particular order;)

8. NUMBER OF ALBUMS OWNED:
Way too many for my small house. All the official Beefheart LPs on vinyl and CD - and a few bootlegs on “Compact Cassette”. A few hundred other CDs, LPs, MiniDiscs, MP3s, DVDs & downloads etc…

9. HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & THE MAGIC BAND,
AND WAS THERE A PARTICULAR SONG THAT MADE YOU SEE THE LIGHT?:
At a friend’s house in Cumbria - just after I’d been kicked out of home AND found out that my girlfriend had been less than faithful to me(?)  Anyway, he put on a scratched copy of Clear Spot and cracked open a couple of bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale – turned out to be an OK night in the end. Golden Birdies really pricked my ears up.  The next day I think I listened to Decals on my Sony WM4 Walkman with big old headphones for the first time – I think that clinched it.

10. NUMBER OF BEEFHEART  GIGS SEEN,  AND WHICH YEARS:
None, but saw Gary Lucas in ‘92, Moris Tepper in ‘98 & The Magic Band in 2004 and 2005 – all in Manchester.

11. ART SHOWS VISITED: Just the Brighton one - in 1994?

12. ANY CONTACT WITH DON?:
Not that I know of.  I did have a good chat with Anton Corbijn last year (2004) who’d spoken with Jan VV just the week before - “they’re both doing OK” he said – made my night!

13. MUSICAL ABILITY / TRAINING:
Guitar – reasonable but no training to speak of.  Drums – technically challenged again - but very keen to learn. I’d probably sing too if I had the bottle…

14. ANY OTHER INFO YOU WISH TO ADD?
I’ve never filled out a musical Q&A/form like this before – does this mean that I am now officially fanatical(?)
