NORTHTON (TAOBH TUATH), SOUTH HARRIS

Introduce yourself to the Western Isles with a visit to South Harris where you will be welcome to some of the most beautiful scenery to be found anywhere. Appreciate the contrasting landscapes of the rocky east coast and the white sandy beaches of the west. Relax and enjoy a walk along one of these beaches where your only disturbance will be the ocassional bird flying past or the waves lapping on the shore.

If you choose to stay in Northton you will be within easy reach of all the visitor attractions the area has to offer. The village is located 18 miles south east of Tarbert, the main population centre in Harris and can boast three glorious sandy beaches, an ancient temple ruin and a Genealogy Centre. It is 3 miles from Leverburgh, where visitors can take a ferry trip to North Uist, and 6 miles from Rodel where St Clement's Church is located.
