Subject: Wed & Sun eveningsDead Jams in Amsterdam!!!!!
HI bill, just dropping youa line to let you and other 'Heads' know that I can be found on a semi-regularbasis jamming Dead tunes [with a liberal dose of Dylan and Young] withlocal musicians in either one of these two venues here in Amsterdam ; THELAST WATERHOLE [on Oudezijds Armsteeg in the red light area] usually ona Wednesday night, but sometimes Thursday, and at THE MALOE MELO [on theLijnbaansgracht] on Sunday nights. I can't guarantee that I'll always beplaying [even if I'm there] as this city is choc-full of band-less guitarists, but thse venues are both well worth checking out in any case.Needless tosay, if there is anyone who fancies getting up on stage with me, its usuallypossible to borrow an instrument.Ok, I guess that's about it [for the otherone...]
Keep Up The Good Work!!!
COLIN DOBSON
P.S. to find out ifI'm goingto be playing e-mail care of wavydavy@xs4all.nlIn 1997 a band called DREADFUL GRATEwas reported to be playing the Amsterdam Cannabis Cup festival... that'sall we know!
NORWAY:
In 95 and 96 Dead celebrations took placein Oslo at the Centrum Scene, with several hundred people attending tohear live bands. Unfortunately the venue closed during 1997.
Dear friends, I'm sorryto announce that the planned evening at Sentrum Scene in Oslo had to becancelled this summer due to the fact that the place is closed down - permanentlyit seems. It's very sad because the deal we had with Sentrum was reallythe perfect one for such an event. The previous two years were really successful, with 4-500 tickets sold, and the music was really good....

SWITZERLAND:
The Zurich-based band DEAD END reformed at the end of 96 and played regular shows in Einsiedeln,Switzerland throughout 96-97. Since 1998 the band seem to have brokenup again... one member, Pete, helped out on bass at the Deadicace gig in London in August 98. Nothing heard since then. The Shotgun Ragtime Band are partly Swiss-based and play gigs there from time to time.
