Summer of Love Party presents
A smaller, more intimate,
and (we hope) less muddy
celebration of the 40th anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock
Festival.
The Summer of Love (SoL)
party is an annual event with live music
held in Hawkhurst, Kent in the UK by Deadheads,
but not just for Deadheads.
There's always a Grateful Dead cover band, but we also
have a number of other bands
covering a variety of genres - which, depending
on the line up, may include blues, folk, indie, ska, jazz, space rock,
and more.
The first party was held
on 7 July 2007 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original Summer
of Love in 1967.
We enjoyed it so much that we decided to hold another
party in 2008 and, as 2009 is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock,
we felt that was a good enough reason to get together
too.
Ticket sales are well ahead of last year's - two months
ahead in fact - but
we still have some left.
We've decided to make it easier for those people who can
only manage to come
for one or other day, rather than both, by offering day
tickets. These will
be priced at £15 for Friday 10th July and £20
for Saturday 11th July - and
half price for kids of 17 and under, and free for kids
of 12 or less. These
prices include overnight camping.
As usual, please let me know as soon as possible if you
would like to come.
Hope to see you there
Chris
