The next meeting is to be held of 8th October 1998

GLASS is a national organisation that is dedicated to researching, protective and promoting ancient historic roads. GLASS is also committed to promoting sensible driving in the countryside and caters for the needs of Four Wheel Drive users whilst actively campaigning for unsurfaced roads to be open for everyone.

GLASS attempts to keep track of all legal orders that are made which affect
the
Green Lane network and to ensure that it is represented at Public Inquiries.

Every year local GLASS members take part in National Green Lane Day when routine maintenance is carried out on some of the lanes in conjunction with the local council.

Recently Manchester GLASS helped Derbyshire GLASS with some lane maintenance that was forced upon us by some unhelpful users! We rebuilt a wall.

GLASS meetings are held in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England on the second Thursday of each month at 8pm

Venue: The Crown Inn, Heaton Road, Stockport
Under the railway viaduct 100 yards west of A6
Grid Reference: SJ 8901 9038

The next meeting will be held on Thursday 9th July 1998

New Standards are proposed for local government employees. This will effect the actions of GLASS as we are frequently amazed at the actions of some officials in their handling of Rights of Way matters.
