GLASS(Green Lane Association) is a national UK organisation that represents users of vehicles in the countryside. GLASS is committed to protecting Britain's heritage of unsurfaced and minor carriageways and promoting their sensible use.
GLASS is in a unique position as the only four wheel drive organisation within the UK that is solely involved in countryside access. All other groups also organise or promote competitions or provide vehicle information or are involved in similar activities. GLASS only promotes vehicular access to the countryside on legal vehicular rights of way. It does not arrange competitive events. GLASS gets involved in many issues relating to access to the countryside and fully recognises the valuable resource that Great Britain has in its Public Rights of Way network. It promotes fully access to Byways and minor carriageways by ALL users including those on foot, on horse, cyclists and vehicle users. There are several books of interest on the subject of unsurfaced and minor carriageways.
GLASS is active in many areas of the UK through local area representatives.
