12. A Change of Mind

'Instant Social Conversion' is the process by which hostile Villagers have their attitudes changed to fit in with the rest. NumberNumber 2 and the Supervisor discuss their next attempt to break Number 6 6 is threatened with this medical procedure if he doesn't conform. Its Number 2's plan to extract Number 6's resignation secret from him.

In a bizarre reversal of the 'plan' Number 86 finds herself being hypnotised by Number 6!Number 86 is used to trick him into joining a band of 'unmutuals' who are cured due to treatment which involves the use of drugs and ultrasonic bombardment of selected areas of the brain. Number 6 is forcefully taken to the hospital and supposedly undergoes the treatment. It turns out to be all a charade and he is in fact being drugged to supress his agressiveness.

Before long Number 6 begins to suspect and decides to turn the tables on his captors..................

Michael Billington appears in a fight scene with Patrick McGoohan and later went on to star in Gerry Anderson's 'UFO' as Colonel Foster.
