Number 6 is one of a few men who may know how to trace the missing Professor Selzmen. Number 6 was the last man to have contact with him before he disappeared.
Selzman invented a process which transmits the mind of one man
into the body of another and this process is used on Number
6!! He awakens to find himself in his own
London home but with the body of a stranger.
His fiance, Janet fails to
recognise him as does her father, Sir Charles Portland, one of his
former superiors. Number 6 must trace Selzman to get the secret of
the reversal process so he can be himself again. He persuades Janet
to hand over a receipt for some colour transparencies, with these he
is able to discover Selzman's whereabouts. He is able to see a
special code that can be seen with polarised glasses, it spells out
Selzman's location.
After a journey across Europe Number 6 finds Seltzman in the village of 'Kandersfeld'. He tells Selzman what has happened and after a small test the professor finally believes him. They are then confronted by one of Sir Charles' men and a fight ensues.
The Village are also watching though and a cloud of gas renders them all unconscious. Selzman and Number 6 arrive back in the Village, but can the professor retain the secret of the reversal process and restore Number 6 as well............?
