Number 6 swears to avenge the death of a girl who was being
persecuted by Number 2 and
subsequently jumped from a window,
Number 6 being too late to save her.
Number 2 is paranoid that Number 6 has been sent as a plant to spy on him on behalf of his superiors. Number 6 senses the paranoia in the new Number 2 and builds-up the impression that he is in touch with the outside world and makes Number 2 more and more unstable. His paranoia reaches it's peak when he thinks everyone is against him and out to betray him.
Number 2 finally reaches the stage of total mental collapse to the delight of Number 6.............
