The Supervisor

The role of The Supervisor was to oversee the surveilance
equipment in The Village from his base in the Control Room. He would
then liase with Number 2 and report on any unacceptable activity -
usually by Number 6! The Supervisor is Number 25 athough all
Supervisors are simply referred to as "Supervisor".
The Supervisor was played by more than one actor, either because of availability or the plot's requirements, but one actor is most identified with the character.
Actor Peter Swanwick is one of the key faces of the series, he utters the unforgettable lines 'Orange Alert' , after which, Rover, Guardian of The Village is summoned.
Peter Swanwick played the Supervisor in one of the key scenes in the series. At the end of Once Upon A Time, when Number 6 beats Leo McKern's Number 2, he utters the lines:
SUPERVISOR: "Congratulations. We shall need the body for evidence. What do you desire?"
NUMBER 6: "Number 1"
SUPERVISOR: "I'll take you."
Peter also appeared in episodes of Danger Man.
In 1959 a surgical operation left him with a shortened life expectancy, he continued to work up until his death in November 1968.
Other Supervisors were played by Kenneth Benda in Free For All, Earl Cameron in The Schizoid Man, Camilla Hasse (Day Supervisor) and Michael Nightingale (Night Supervisor) in Dance of The Dead, Basil Dignam and Victor Platt (Assistant Supervisor) in Checkmate and Derek Aylward (new Supervisor) in Hammer into Anvil.
