I didn't find the tools in these photographs
overnight. They have been collected over
some three decades. A really good tool can
be used weekly, year after year.
Some of these have had several owners
before me, and have served their purpose
for a century and more. Old things have
a special vibe. They can open up something
in your mind, if you let them, if you study
them very closely.

The more sensitive we become, from doing
zazen, the more receptive we become to
ethereal, subtle things, things which most
people never experience in their whole lives.
